对历史，尤其是罗马史感兴趣的筒子不妨听听BBC的这一广播剧Caesar。
总共9集。该广播剧涉及的不止恺撒大帝一人，而是他开启的罗马帝国中重要人物的历史大剧，一集一人。




 第一集：
Meeting at Formiae：
Julius Caesar goes undercover to meet Senate leaders Cicero and Cato in an attempt to gather support to revitalise Roman politics.

这一集主要讲的是罗马帝国朱里亚·克劳狄王朝的最后一任皇帝尼禄和其母亲小阿格里皮娜的故事。
尼禄在位期间，他的注意力大部份集中在外交及贸易上，以及提高帝国的文化素质。他下令建造剧院和促进竞技运动。64年，罗马城发生大火，做成广大面积被烧毁。当时许多人认为，这场大火是尼禄派军队去做的。尼禄被认为是想利用这场大火，将大量地方烧成白地，以便他可以兴建富丽堂皇的金宫。尼禄的统治往往被连带专制以及铺张浪费。 他执行多宗处决而为人所知，其中包括杀害他的母亲，以及谋杀他同父异母的弟弟不列塔尼库斯，逼迫着名斯多亚学派哲学家、授业恩师塞内加自杀。尼禄通常被列为古罗马的暴君之一。
小阿格里皮娜是古罗马皇后，暴君尼禄的母亲。她是罗马帝国早期的著名妇女，也是古代世界最有名的投毒者之一。尼禄顺利地继承王位之后，阿格里皮娜希望能主导政权。然而当阿格里皮娜反对尼禄与波皮亚·塞宾娜的婚姻时，尼禄的疯狂使他杀死了母亲。


第五集：
The Glass Ball Game：
The historian Suetonius is drawn into Hadrian's private life when he befriends the Emperor's young lover, Antinous, and travels with them into the heart of Egypt.
The story of Emperor Hadrian and his relationship with Antinous, who died in mysterious circumstances.
历史学家苏维托尼乌斯Suetonius因为与罗马皇帝哈德良Hadrian的娈童安提诺乌斯Antinous是朋友，而且随他们一起去过埃及，得以了解到哈德良的一些私生活。
这一集是关于哈德良与安提诺乌斯之间的故事。关于安提诺乌斯的死，众说纷纭，有人说是他杀有人说是自杀。

哈德良是罗马帝国五贤帝之一。他最为人所知的事迹是兴建了哈德良长城，划定了罗马帝国在不列颠尼亚的北部国境线。他还在罗马城内重建了万神庙，并新建了维纳斯和罗马神庙。作为罗马皇帝，他倡导人文主义，提倡希腊文化。

哈德良另一个广人为知是与希腊青年安提诺乌斯的同性恋情，安提诺乌斯死后，哈德良皇帝用各种方式缅怀安提诺乌斯，城市以他的名字命名，奖章上刻上了他的画像，帝国的多处场所树立起了他的雕像，宣布安提诺乌斯为神，并在比提尼亚、曼提尼亚、阿卡迪亚以及雅典等地建立了多座庙宇，今天的安提诺波利斯市(en:Antinopolis)就是哈德良在安提诺乌斯溺水的地点所修建的城市。


第六集：
Citizens In A Great City：
Young Commodus buckles under the expectations put upon him by his father, the philosopher emperor Marcus Aurelius. Septimus Severus is called upon to save the Empire from anarchy. The story of Septimus Severus and how he ended up on the brink of becoming emperor.
马可·奥勒留Marcus Aurelius，是罗马帝国最伟大的皇帝之一、斯多葛学派学者，其统治时期被认为是罗马黄金时代的标志。他不但是一个很有智慧的君主，同时也是一个很有成就的思想家，有以希腊文写成的关于斯多葛哲学的著作《沉思录》（Τ? ε?? ?αυτ?ν）传世。在整个西方文明之中，奥勒留也算是一个少见的贤君。拥有凯撒称号（Imperator Caesar）的他是罗马帝国五贤帝时代最后一个皇帝。
康茂德Commodus虽然是有名的哲学家皇帝马可·奥勒留的亲生儿子，但他执政的十二年期间普遍不得元老院与一般人民的喜爱，同时代的史学家卡西乌斯·迪欧将其视为另一位暴君的典范，并结束了过去帝国五贤君时代的繁华。康茂德遇刺身亡后，罗马帝国便陷入了一连串混乱的内战之中。


第七集：
Empress In The West：
